Paste web pages with text & images in Libreoffice 3.5 / Libreoffice 3.6

If you copy something from a web page (text & images together) from any web browser like Firefox/chrome/IE and paste it in LO writer, the document save with the images, but images are inserted as links in the documents rather than getting copied to the document.

To solve this, go to edit menu — > Links . break the links that are used for images. & save document.

This may take a few minutes..

Use Libre-office [open-office] extension ” paste from Web”.

For Single images, You can use the paste special option – paste as bitmap

    The fact images are pasted as links by default has always bugged me. Thanks!

      Also, I’ve just found a third way to do the same:
      Copy Image link to clipboard.
      Edit -> Paste Special… or Control+Shift+V
      and the you choose Bitmap (Not sure if the name of the option is different or not depending the format of the image, png, jpg, gif, etc. Mine was a png image).
      And that’s is, you have the imagen in the document.

      Something I would like to point out is that when I tried Edit -> Link & Break for the first time, I had to save but also close and open again the document to see the image, because when I broke the link, in the place where the image was supposed to be shown, there was a text saying something like an error (can’t remember exactly what because now it doesn’t happen anymore that).

    the only way I found (using Chrome), was to right click on page, then “print”, only instead of printing, save it as a pdf.
    BAM! pics and text all in the right place…etc. Couldn’t get it to work in liibre office
