LibreOffice 3.6 Feature / fixes going to Land …..

As everyone’s exception, there is going to land a lot of features in Libreoffice 3.6. It offers significant performance improvements over previous versions while opening large files.

This gives you a rundown of the new features going to land in this release of LibreOffice (version 3.6). Major features are

Libreoffice Writer :

  • Improved MS office 2007 file-format (.docx). Smart arts text imports expected.
  • Improved status-bar Layout like show word count etc.
  • Label / Business card Wizard improvements.
  • Improvements to rtf format import.
  • Ctrl+[ and Ctrl+] will decrease and increase font size of the selected text, respectively.

Libreoffice Calc :

  • Performance improvement to pivot table.
  • Improved CSV file import.
  • Allow sorting of data from the autofilter menu.
  • Improved performance of raw cell value import from MS office 2007 file-format (xlsx) documents.
  • New option to context menu. [ Merge cells, Quickly pasting
    only text, value, or formula, Support field items in cells –
    insert date, sheet name, and title fields into cells.]
  • Ctrl-D fills-down in more familiar ways.
  • Support Data-bar in ods format

Libreoffice suite, impress, Math :

  • Added wide-screen format for impress-slides.
  • Format dialogues and Symbols now have help buttons.
  • Import filter for Corel Draw documents.

Libreoffice GUI :

  • Redesigned About dialogue.
  • Now Possible to apply the last used colour with one mouse click.
  • Improved zooming, scrollbar & rulers.

We will hope that Google summer code 2012 will bring much more changes/features to Libreoffice 3.7 version.
